Live Jazz

Tonight Gina and I attended a live jazz concert at the Sharp Nine Jazz Gallery in Raleigh.  Playing, for the first time in 18 months, was the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra.  Featured in this picture (I had a lousy seat for not allowed photography) is Rahsaan Barber.  Barber's local gig is as an assistant professor at UNC Chapel Hill.  But if check out the link, and look around a little, you see that his day job just scratches the surface.

The  Sharp Nine is a gem, and this band performs monthly and music almost daily at what looks (from the outside) like just another unit in an industrial park.  It is anything but.
