Take a Bow

I went out paddling on Lyttelton Harbour today, mostly around Quail Island, where there's a bay known as the Ships Graveyard. Approximately eight ships, none too large, have been sunk here deliberately. Sometimes you can paddle inside the largest wreck, which is what I was doing in this image, heading towards the bow. I've got an interesting image of a shag sitting on an old boiler wreck - it was hard to know what to post on BF! Quail Island is an interesting destination with a fascinating history, including links to Scott and Shackleton, and it has been a leprosy colony. Many birds nest there, there are caves to paddle through, volcanic cliffs to admire, a lovely walk around the island, and a swimmers beach which is very popular in the summer.
