Morgan's The Milk

A bit of a back-blip with family history that a cousin is researching.

The blipfoto is of my great grandfather (father's, father's father!) outside his dairy shop 27 Plough Road, Battersea, London about 1915. His name was John Morgan (born: 1868-1937 at Blaenpennal, Cardigan, Wales).  he is shown with his wife Jane Morgan (nee Griffiths b: 1869-1952) in the shop doorway.

The family used to have their milk transported by night train from Cardigan to London, around the turn of the last century. They decided to move to Plough Road, Battersea, London to run their dairy there. He became known as Morgan's the Milkman and when he registered the births of their children the surname became corrupted to Morgans. They had 6 children of which my grandfather Robert Owen Morgans (B: 1905-1998) was the second oldest.

My dad, David Bronant Morgans (B:1932) is the oldest surving of eight children.

He tells me he lived at the dairy shown above until he was about 6yrs!
