An Unkindness of Ravens

Bedraggled

Not the sharpest shot you'll ever see (it was pouring with rain and starting to get dark) and I had much better shots of the king parrots yesterday, but that's the way it goes.

After the usual early morning swimming, we went down to the RSPCA in Burwood to check out the kittens. We used to have two cats, but they both died last year and we have waited until now to think about getting another. We were limited by being unable to have ones with any white or ginger (high skin cancer risk) - they are very insistent that these have to be inside only cats and I can't guarantee that, given that we have a nice big garden, I won't let it out to play sometimes. So, we (that is, daughter N) chose a beautiful little all black girl - about four months old. She seems to have a lovely temperament (one of our last cats was totally mad and I was the only person he liked). So we have spent the rest of the day settling her in to just a small part of the house and she seems quite content so far. N is so happy! She never knew our other cats as kittens and she adores all animals. We have decided to call her Isis.

Of course, we did have to choose the most difficult colour to photograph! I only took a few shots this afternoon, but none was blipable. I'm sure she will feature in many a blip to come.
