ROAD AMERICA

Today at the track was a Chamber of Commerce day...weatherwise. 75°F (24°C) and very low humidity. A nice breeze off the big pond (Lake Michigan) and.....it doesn't get any better than today. Unfortunately, most good things eventually end. This will end tomorrow with temps in the high 80sF. and humidity to match. And Sunday will make Saturday looks like a nice day. Just in time for the two big NASCAR races and 100,000 or more fans on site.

The fella above is Nic. I've known him forever as both of his parents are former students of mine.  A few years ago he won an International contest which afforded him the chance to drive high powered machines in Europe and the UK. It was a great learning experience for Nic and cemented his bond with the sport.

He has already graduated the university and is a working automotive engineer in Marysville, Ohio.

In his spare time, he races cars and has been doing so for years. Last year he was driving in the Xfinity series of NASCAR. This year he's in the TransAm series. He's driving a TransAm 2 car which has about 500 horsepower and is fully capable of reaching speeds of 200 mph (322kph). It really is a hoot watching him drive since I've been doing it since his Go Kart days, shortly after he abandoned his diapers.

Best in Large.

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW NIC!
