Micro

Another rather grey and gloomy day, with some early rain that left all the vegetation decidedly soggy. Once it had a chance to dry out  I went off to Ring Haw to do a bit more of the NVC survey - it was wonderful to see so many flowering Common Spotted Orchid, though I ended up with very wet feet.

An evening walk round the garden revealed very little in the way of insect life - a rather pretty but common micro-moth Orthotaenia undulana was sitting on the flowers of Star-of-Persia and I found a Common Malachite Beetle sitting on one of the Ox-eye Daisies that are now finally in full bloom.
