The most interesting news of the day occurred when I stepped on the scales and realised that this healthier regime has meant I am 10kg - about 1.5 stone - down on when I started. I think it’s starting to show which is good. The goal, however, is not to lose weight but, rather, it is to get healthier and while those goals are aligned I am not yet convinced I have the balance right. I don’t want to drop weight but for the diabetes risk to not go away so it’s more than just eating less: I have to make sure my new diet is better.
