Busy at the poppy.

This year I've been treated to some lovely colours in the opium poppies, last year they were a little muddy. All the flowers in my new bed are wildlife friendly and they certainly come by in their droves, earlier today three hover flies were sharing this bloom, note the fourth coming in from the right!

After a morning of jobs and the place (plus a little watching the insects) I went to the garden centre for compost and a container for my olive tree then into Winchester to meet RF for an early evening meal. 

The restaurant we'd intended going to had a private booking so our plan changed and we got to eat in a place we'd only had deliveries from before, the local pie shop, it was lovely!
