Saimaa Challenge

In Lappeenranta was a very nice multisport competition, which I was photographing for.  It was a long day, I was there taking photos for about 10hours but it was a long and hard day for the contestants too. There was two competitions series, the other one was for "beginners" it had 7km running, 5km kayaking, 35km of cycling and the quests which included crossing the lake with the bikes and other gear, walking over a river on two slack-lines. The "Pros" had the same quest tasks but they ran 12km, had 7km of kayaking and 70km of biking. And all this in the heat of 28 degrees celsius.  Of course the race distance was even longer if you made some mistakes in the orienteering to the check points.
