Hawthorn Road

Very muggy, drizzly, windy, warm, cool and/or sunny. Good old English weather continues.

Woke up to the euphoria over England’s win. Now we have to wait for Wednesday’s semi-final v Denmark (that’s a point - not come across any Danish Blippers?).

No good time to go for a walk weather-wise. So went out when it was raining. A friend posted an image, on FB, of her and a friend in Flamingos. Hadn’t heard of it. Checked on the web, reminded me of a cool American Diner. Interesting, as inland off the tourist beat.

So we drove (5mn) and parked in Winton. Had a coffee at Flamingos. Nice atmosphere, lots of young families and couples. Super friendly staff. Not ‘fine dining’ but will return.

Walked some way up the road, pretty bland shops, but some useful to know (eg locksmiths). Then back the other side. Spotted this blipped road name carved into the kerb-stone, on both sides of road. Wonder why it’s down there?

Mr B thinks I’ll like ‘The Anniversary’ with Bette Davis. On channel 81, Talking Pictures at 10pm. So must get on with repairing his tracksuit bottoms (frayed cuffs).
