Lonely rose

How did this rose come to be lying on the ground just outside the Co-Op ? Maybe it fell off as someone picked up an impulsive bunch of flowers for their girlfriend,or Mum,or maybe just for themselves. It's not got a long enough stem to take home,and where it is then it won't be long before someone's big foot crushes it. Sad.
