Insanity?

Carl at the start of a 13.5 mile, 2000ft ascent race.  In a thunderstorm.
Utterly insane, I thought, as I searched for a geocache in a local park.  And found myself sliding down a near-vertical path through soaking trees and mud, leaves in my hair, and phone in hand following GPS and compass.
Maybe the runners aren't the insane ones :)
