(188) Larpool Viaduct

Larpool viaduct was built in 1884 to carry the Scarborough and Whitby railway line over the River Esk. The railway was closed in 1965 as a result of the Beeching Report and the course of the former railway line is now a popular track for cyclists and walkers.
The colour of the viaduct in this shot comes from the red brick of which the structure is built and the 'warm' street lighting illuminating it.
