Rainie's Abstract!

Digital group today!  We, only two of us on Skype, went through a few different quick things.  One was provided by Rainie.  Many thanks for your easy to follow explanation Rainie! 
I used the yellow plant in my raised planter whose name I haven't yet established.  I know it's edible.  It's in the extras.
Could it be Brassica rapa?  In which case will I get turnips?  a Common name for it maybe Field mustard and having just chewed some of the flowers they are a bit mustardy.  The leaves have a definite tang too!  My specimen is no more!!
