Big Hoverfly

This fellow was sunning himself on the front patio this morning. Which gave me a chance to try my new macro lens with Nikon's Focus stacking. I set a 1" gap between each of the 20 exposures as I was using a flash, and prayed he didn't move his head (or the rest of him) too much.  I got away with it pretty well. The detail is remarkable.
