More strange fruit

I’m spending a lot of time in the UCSC Arboretum, prepping for a plein air class to be held in August.   Today, hung out in the Australia section; sketching and painting under a Bog Gum tree (Eucalyptus cosmophylla).  

Loads of hummingbirds whizzing by my head.   At one point I wondered if I would be that ONE person who dies from having their temple impaled by a hummer.   Death by Archilochus.

Not the way I want to make the 6 o’clock evening news.
