Cown Edge Rocks

Had a walk looking for any signs of Spring. They were few and far between though the windchill has eased.

I finally saw some Curlew on the ground - I have heard a few calls but only a fleeting view in the air until today. I think they are late returning to the local hills this year. Also saw a few Lapwing and they seem to be getting territorial so they will be getting more active and make more if those wonderful calls from now on.

Generally though it was very quiet a couple of Meadow pipits and Red Grouse other birds still absent.

Nice when the sun shone
