Tenacious fern

I’d noticed that the area at the side of the house was getting a bit overgrown, so after lunch I nipped outside to get some fresh air and a few handfuls of weeds.

As I pulled this one out, I couldn’t help thinking I’d have been happy to keep it if it had been growing elsewhere in the garden.
