A strange day.  We are part of the Office of National Statistics survey of Covid prevalence in the UK.  Each month someone arrives; we answer questions on where we've been. who we've been with, whether we have Covid symptoms and son on.  We do a test - the unpleasant one - and they take away the sample.  Along with thousands of others, the data is analysed and provides evidence for decision makers.
For the first time, we were asked to give a sample of blood and given a kit.  It was surprisingly difficult to prick my finger and put my blood into a tube.  The first finger didn't yield much so a second finger had to be punctured.  I don't give up my blood easily!
