Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Monet

First trip out of my comfort zone, with cane…to the Seattle Art Museum with the granddaughters to see the small but elegant exhibition Monet at Etretat .   SAM owns only one very lovely Monet …it’s from this period of the 1880s before Monet was famous and spent time on the Normandy coast painting off season the boats and spectacular cliffs of Etretat.
Then to the fabulous cut out room of Barbara EarlThomas  The museum does seem strange ..they are some empty galleries getting redone   (museum Extras)  We drove down town…so much traffic and construction for not that many workers working there..and some streets are oddly empty.  Liked the look on this gal’s face looking at this concrete  outdoor artwork.(other extra)

Then home for milkshakes, cookies, drawings, books on later Monet,  and a game of CLUE.  Except for masks in the museum (And fully vaccinated people are welcome to NOT wear one)  it all seemed like normal, hanging out, hugs and all.

The blip is Seattle’s painting…the girls liked the boats the best.  But the landscapes were so solid and impressionistic at the same time... a pleasure to concentrate on a small subject/ time frame.

A successful trip out in the world. :-)
