Flowers and a Dove

One of those mourning doves crashed into our sliding glass door late yesterday. It must have been attempting to evade a hawk. Although it hit the glass solidly, leaving an impact mark and a couple of tiny feathers, when I rushed out to see if I could help it in any way...it was gone! The glass door has several decals on it, designed to warn birds away from the collision danger. Apparently they don't always work. I just hope that a bad headache was all that beautiful bird suffered.
