From Blackberries to Blackcurrants

I think this follows on quiet well from my blip yesterday which showed a flower on a bramble/blackberry cane in the garden

Rumour has it that a large proportion of all the blackcurrants harvested in the UK go into Ribena products - but it seems that my Editor is endeavouring to change that! We have only one blackcurrant bush in the garden, given to her by the lads on Mothering Sunday a few years ago, and every year it gets bigger and produces a bigger crop. She picked all these this afternoon, to add to those picked over the last few days (totalling significantly more than you see here) which are currantly currently in the freezer. She hopes to get a total of 4lb as she has a recipe for jam using that quantity and that would save having to do sums to alter the quantities - and I think she may succeed.
