Wedding

We were at a wedding in south London today.
Allocated seats - I was in the front row as you can see!

The groom was widowed some time back. His first wife was heavily pregnant when she died suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving him with seven children including the newborn.

Today he was married again to a lovely young woman with his three eldest teenage sons being his best men.

A joyous day but a day in which his first wife wasn’t forgotten. Her parents were there and in his speech, the groom was able to give thanks for his new wife as well as for 14 years of happy marriage.

On the back of the order of service, they had these words which are an amazing testimony to their faith in the Lord Jesus:
‘We hope that today, you get a renewed sense of God’s kindness. God’s providence are often unexpected, sometimes painful, but always good’

One of the extras was taken through the windows of a tube on the way back this evening. It’s a nod to a different man and his boys - do your best and bring it home this weekend!
