Birthday Party.

Today we went to our daughter’s home for a special birthday party for my husband’s 80th birthday, which was a few days ago. It was the closest date that all the family could attend.

We started with nibbles and drinks before the meal, which was a barbeque. There were 80th birthday balloons and a banner as well as a beautiful cake. There were more presents and cards including an excellent book for the year 1941 with an entry for everyday of the year from his grandson. His granddaughter had organised a photographic book of pictures of him, depicting some of the many events we have done over the years together as a family. One picture in particular was of him on a skiing holiday with both grandchildren; Victoria was two and a half and Oliver was four.

Despite rain being forecast it was mainly dry with just a few odd spots of rain, until later in the afternoon when it rained slightly more, so we moved back into the conservatory and continued with drinks and more nibbles to pick at.

Today’s picture is of our family eating their barbeque food. His grandchildren and their partners can be seen here.

The temperature at GMT noon was twenty-one degrees Celsius today.
