Seeing Beyond Looking

The Face on the Church Tower: Thun

This is the last of my holiday backblips.  We visited the charming town of Thun with its pedestrian streets, outside terraces and castle. We climbed all the steps to the very top of the castle to see the views. Some of the stone steps were uneven and quite tricky to manoeuver. Luckily, there were ropes to hang onto instead of bannisters!

Main photo: The church (I love the face) and the river Aare below which runs through the town of Thun and joins the lake. This was the only cloudy and dullish day of our holiday, but we still had fun visiting this town and it was plenty warm enough to sit at an outside café along the river for our delicious salad lunch.

Extra: Standing on the other side of the river, we could see the 12th century castle and the church.
