Auld Alliance

Saw these flags hanging outside The Starbank Inn a couple of days ago prior to the France Scotland rugby match in Paris and thought they looked nice.

However on passing this morning I noticed that some patron of the bar had tied them together making for a much more interesting photo.

I heard on the radio that Scotland had "helped" the French to claim the wooden spoon, a concept I couldn't quite grasp.

Anyway the two countries are united again albeit in rugby mediocrity.
