What have the Romans.....?

Family trip out to the remains of Chedworth Roman Villa today.

This shot was taken on the way back. Roman shots didn't quite capture the magic of the villa!

My right sinus has completely cleared up and that particular reservoir is empty.

Fortunately my left sinus is now fully on stream so I can appreciate the joy that this brings.

A trip up the M5, then.

The National Trust have done a very good job. The mosaics are splendid, I guess, and look like they could have been laid down weeks ago. The volunteer who talked to the boys for quarter of an hour or more was great. Son #1 knew all about the thingy for scraping your skin when in the bath-house and both knew about the sponge on the stick replacement for toilet paper.

There was a good audio guide on little iPod touches and we spent a happy hour or so there, both boys spending their pocket money on Roman swords (the plastic reincarnations!).

They had their relaxation sorted - a variety of plunge pools, dry rooms, wet rooms and quality underfloor heating.

Chedworth is high up in the Cotswolds and we had a good look around. The stone, the rolling hills, the pretty villages all make us tempted to have a little family cycling trip in the near future. Plans, plans....

Back down the M5, with a plastic sword related meltdown going on in the back of the van.

All settled with a heartfelt plea from Dad who stressed how dieing as a result of sinus trouble was not being made any easier by the sword related meltdown.

Calm restored, we're back at home and I'm in the mood for cleaning.

Funny what Sunday does to you. It may pass.

My colleague Mr B is on 730 today. He has opted for a surprise dog picture! Pop over and wish him well!
