The View from Afar

Summer has returned to EH3 and with no murk or mist when I woke up there was no excuse to lie abed. Instead I cycled for the first time this year up to Braid Hills Drive to look over Edinburgh. From that vantage point there is an 180°view of the city from Joppa in the east to Corstorphine in the west.

Edinburgh is challenging for motorists at the best of times, but with a huge number of road closures for whatever reason and new random priority lanes for cyclists and pedestrians , not to mention roads consisting mainly of tarmac patches, it makes finding a pleasant route from A-B very tricky.

The day progressed afterwards in a more leisurely fashion with much sitting in the sunshine reading, interspersed with sorties indoors to cool down.

I am definitely missing the view of the sea and all that sails on it- people lying sunbathing on the other side of the railings is no substitute.
