Cow Urologist

Morning appointment at my Urologist at his main practice (home) in Bad Grönenbach. The logo of the practice, both here and in their Memmingen practice, is an Allgäu Brown Cow.

Today was a follow-up to the emergency work he did in April & it had been assumed he would need to do some more cutting, but his first job had been 100% and all OK. He did convince me to take a PSA prostate gland test. A much discussed matter. The 'national' health service does not pay for this test if it is simply done without a specific reason/sign. Doc says at my age I should get it done, so did. €30 & a few vials of blood given. As it turned out a few days late, the results showed an increased 'rate' but not alarming and I need to come back in August for a follow up. This kind of result is what gives the test its criics. It is often so  vague - increased value but on what initial value? Quite happy to have done it & just hope all turns out well in August.

The took hours wandering around the lovely spa town. Took loads of video material, but hardly any stills. Maybe in August will make up for it.
Lovely castle area with the official County teaching gardens, the old quaint town, lovely main church with spectacular gravestones and a sprawling beautifully tendered large spa recuperation centre for those getting over operations or dealing with illness. Standard practice even in the standard health system to be sent to places like this for 3-4 weeks after an operation to help oneself get sorted. May be physical exercise & or such things as dietary/ cooking classes following say digestive issues. Hotel accommodation but one is in a regime that starts early morning and ends afternoon when one has a few hours free but then a nightly curfew. If you don't follow rules you get thrown out & have to pay the costs.
