Old Friends United

We’ve spent the day near St. Just with a friend of mine who I met some 15 years ago whilst on a Jazz Improvisation Summer School week in France, C with her flute and me with my saxophone.   We met up again the next year at the Summer School and have been in contact ever since.  C lived in Kent and I did go and stay with her way back in about 2008 in her lovely house.  She’s now in Cornwall having moved here in May and today, we’ve met again after all those years.  We both said those magical words ……..’you haven’t changed  a bit …….. ??!
It’s been a really lovely day, cool and overcast when we left base, a few traffic holdups on the way and then beautiful sunshine in Penzance, Wonderful meetup with C, so much to catch up with, lovely lunch and then a walk with Bumble dog to have our first view of the sea ……..  (Can’t believe we’ve been here for a week now and haven’t seen the sea) but we put that right  …. And had a good walk along the cliffs around Botallack and ‘The Crowns’ Mine.  We’ve been here before but the light and atmosphere changes every time we visit.

It’s my #1 daughter’s birthday today, born in the Military Hospital Hong Kong 54 years ago.  She was successful in her interview for a new job today too so a double celebration for her.
