It's a Fixer Upper

Near where I live in Southampton there are two house's that have been completely reclaimed by nature. Im talking tree's growing up through the roof kind of thing. Talking to the man next door, it's been that way for as long as he can remeber, and he's been living there for 30 years! I joked that at this point there was more tree than house. He laughed and agreed, then proceeded to tell me how he was in talks with the owner over buying the houses.

Unfortunately not even a new coat of paint would be able to restore these buildings back to their former glory and as such they will soon be demolished. Its a shame to think that these superb examples of Victorian architecture will soon be torn down. Their lovely ceramic tiled pathways and entranceways ground to dust. Their original wooden floorboards ripped out and torn to splinters. All this and to top it off, it'll be replaced with some drab, simplistic modern building mostly likely designed by an accountant named Durk (Durk likes building 4x4 lego houses). So often you see these new homes being built in mass and wonder who would want to live in them now, let alone in 50 years. Then again though, who'd want to live in a place with a leaky ceiling, ivy for curtains, and pigeons as housemates?

(tbf I'd take the pigeon over some of my current housemates :D)
