Pole Star

For a fairly isolated part of a small town there is still a lot of activity round here.
The Pole Star is carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance of a marker light buoy, watched by three swimmers in the foreground.  You can see the swimmers heads (the larger white float is a sailing club marker) they look a lot closer to the ship than they were.

Extras:  The George Mackay Brown Memorial Garden is getting a strim and the road signs are getting some maintenance, too.

The Pole Star is a lighthouse tender operated by the Northern Lighthouse Board, the body responsible for the operation of lighthouses and marine navigation aids around the coasts of Scotland.
