A Year On!

Year 2 Day 114 of UK COVID-19 Pandemic.  First UK Vaccine 220 days ago. UK open. Minor restrictions. Overseas travel restrictions.

It was a year ago today that we moved into our new home in The Wye Valley after 23 years in our previous home in South Wales. It was a lot of stress and mixed emotions and a wonder if we were doing the right thing and if we'd enjoy it. Its turned out even better than we'd hoped. The Barn House is fantastic, the neighbours now good friends, our social life has taken off, and we're missing nothing of what we left behind. We've spent virtually all our savings (it earns nothing in the bank - and you can't take it with you!) Its been hard work getting the house sorted as we want it but we're almost there. Not bad going as we had three lockdowns to contend with and Herefordshire Planning Dept!

We walked up our local hill (Coppett Hill) to the trig point overlooking our village of Goodrich and enjoyed a chilled bottle of quality Chardonnay, greek olives, Tyrells crisps, and sandwiches as we took in the views and what we'd achieved. A great way to mark the first year.
