In A Spin

This rotary airer (which I call the whirligig) has travelled with us from house to house, although we always have to buy a new ground spike.

In the first house where we had it, the spike wasn’t very straight (so hard to put these things in) so the whole thing was at an angle which meant the washing never span round in the wind. Disappointing.

In the second house, the spike was a bit straighter but still not enough for the thing to rotate. Still disappointing.

In our current house, the spike is the straightest it’s ever been.
…and I still take childish delight when I see the washing spinning round on a windy day :))
