Lacecap Hydrangea

It was the second day of the move for Ben and Sarah. Yesterday they'd collected all Sarah's stored furniture from her parent's and sister's houses - today it was time to move furniture and belongings out of our house. For a short time we actually had space in our living room.

They'd completed their move by lunchtime, so in the afternoon we took the van to Spalding to move one or two remaining pieces of furniture and clear out the garage and garden shed. It was all a bit dispiriting - just so much junk which will require several follow-up trips to the tip. The very neat garden is now looking rather overgrown, but this beautiful Lace-cap Hydrangea was a real picture and provided a moment of beauty in a rather grubby afternoon.

The van was returned on time and rather miraculously Ben and Sarah managed to do a lot of unpacking and make their living room look really welcoming by early evening. The six of us who'd helped with the move enjoyed a Chinese take-away in their new space - a lovely house-warming. I think they'll sleep well in their new house after such a busy couple of days!
