Oh boy! I spent a couple hours up at the Arboretum on campus, watching a live presentation on raptors by Full Circle Falconry. Imagine being just a few feet away from this gorgeous creature. And even closer to a beautiful furry barn owl! Oh, how I wanted to nuzzle his soft nose! Being face to face with this wild magical presence brought tears to my eyes. There was a kestrel, a peregrine, a Harris hawk, a great horned owl, a lanner falcon, and, for some odd reason, a kookabura. The love the falconers have for their birds was obvious, and they were so generous with their knowledge. It was a wonderful morning.
