Dark sky over Hawthorne

This is taken at 7th Avenue, the west end of Hawthorne Boulevard, my One Street. At the far end, about 55 blocks east, is Mount Tabor, a dormant volcano. (Portland is one of only three U.S. cities to contain a dormant volcano.) Most photos are taken from Mt. Tabor, elevation 636 feet (194 m) - on a clear day, the views are exquisite.

This section of Hawthorne is mostly light industrial; as you go farther east, it turns into retail and restaurants and the ubiquitous coffee shops; even further east it becomes residential. The Mt. Tabor neighborhood is a desirable one.

It looked like some weather was going to hit but this was an hour ago and it hasn't yet....

EDIT In true Blipsnap fashion, nhc just blipped Hawthorne from Mt. Tabor!
