St. Patrick's Day Green

Founded in 1979, Shamrock Run is the largest running and walking event in Portland, Oregon. Today, 35,000 participants celebrated the 35th anniversary of the event. It is now the 3rd most popular running event on the west coast.

The Shamrock Run offered multiple events--race distances of 5 kilometers, 8 kilometers and 15 kilometers. Shamrock also had a 5 km fitness walk - the Shamrock Stride - and a 1km run/walk for children age 10 and younger known as the "Leprechaun Lap."

It was wonderful to see so many people getting some exercise today. I exercised my thumb by taking pictures of the event.
