Philpstoun Bing

We decided to cycle along the canal to the Philpstoun Bings and explore them. There are bings either side of the canal and they have been extensively quarried for road foundations as it is hard wearing. We went up to the high point of the Northern bing and then went to the southern one which is less vegetated. The blip is a view from the highest point of the bing looking north towards Rosyth and the Forth. The alpine strawberries were magnificent; big, juicy and sweet. The extra is a shot of Greendykes Bing near Broxburn, and I put in in as a contrast to last May’s blip from a similar place; the difference in vegetation a couple of months makes is amazing.

Best on black.
