Trains and boats, no planes

With apologies to Burt Bacharach, the composer of the 1965 hit song.

The intense heat continues so I went for my walk at 8.00am this morning on a route that was mostly in the shade.

I went along the canal, across the Chirk Aqueduct then a circular route that took me back under the aqueduct and viaduct.  I didn't see anyone until I was almost back so definitely the best time of the day. I stayed in the house out of the sun for the rest of the day but will go out after tea when it will be cooler.

There were quite a few narrowboats on the canal and when I saw this one on the aqueduct with the train crossing the viaduct I was reminded of the old song.
