Day 202/21. Pretty, but also nasty.....

This is a Cuckoo Wasp, about 6mm head to tail.. A beautiful coloured little insect in the sun in our garden today.....But....
Cuckoo wasps are kleptoparasites – they lay their eggs in the nests of other wasp species and their young consume the eggs or larva of the host wasp for sustenance. Not all about them is pretty....
