Life with Alice

A Favourite Outing

Today we went south to go walkies along the banks of the smaller of the two canals close to where we live, Kinda kanal. We love to go exploring, watch boats climb or descend through the lock system and of course - visit the ice cream hut!

It was a glorious day, and as you can see, both kayakers and boats were in the canal, and lots of people were enjoying the sunshine in the small marina. Mum got us a cherry vanilla ice cream, and we sat down on the grass and enjoyed it. Then we went to say hello to a group of cows who were also, for some reason, curiously watching us back.

There are these perfect jumping rocks along the canal. Mum explained that they’re not really rocks, but were used in the olden days to secure the big boats transporting timber. I love them!
