Tony the Pony

If you know, you know ;-)

As always with us and tv shows, we were late to the party of ‘Our Yorkshire farm’.
My A’s family recommended it and we ended up binge watching the whole lot over the course of a week!

We saw that they were doing cream teas again, so we planned a family road trip for next week.

However, although the Ravenseat website says they’re open, Google said they’re only open on a Sunday. As it’s a four hour round trip, we wanted to be certain they are indeed open again, (especially as we are taking 3 other people who would be bitterly disappointed if it was closed) so decided to have a drive over today.

The drive through the Yorkshire countryside was absolutely stunning; it was worth going out just for that.

Happily, Ravenseat farm was open for cream teas when we arrived and it was nice to be served by Raven, the eldest daughter of the Owen family.

The scones were delicious; still warm and with a decent dollop of homemade jam. Yummy!

There were quite a few other people also having cream teas. We were also joined by Tony the pony who was loving the attention and worked his way around every table.

The two youngest girls, Clemmie and Nancy had befriended a couple of children from a visiting family; the parents told us they felt mean dragging the kids away but they’d only popped in for a drink! I guess it’s nice for the farm kids to see and play with different people.

Mr A enjoyed petting two of the family dogs and also chatted football with Miles (who was wearing a Manchester United shirt).

We asked if they were going to be open every day next week and the reply was ‘unless it’s pissing down’, so we just need to check the weather before we go ;-)
