Changing Colour For Winter

Only last week the lesser Mexican stonecrop was bright green, but now it is yellowing. If we get a run of hard frosts it will turn orange, without damage, and will produce flowers in the spring. For the first 25-odd years I had the plant I kept it indoors, believing it to be a delicate plant. It stayed green all year round and didn’t bear flowers.

Almost constant rain today. It only amounted to a few millimetres, but there are a lot of puddles forming on the sodden ground.
