Up early and pack down the campsite before hiking dale's gorge rim and then dale's gorge proper to Fortescue falls, beautiful day. We hiked up to fern pool and went for a swim and climb through the waterfall, then back down to Fortescue for a last swim in the sunlight. Karijini has been amazing, good weather, swimming every day in the pools, shaded hikes in the gorges. We definitely picked the correct order to do things, each hike has been more impressive or the perfect opportunity to swim.

At 1130 we left karijini to drive to Exmouth, after passing through tom price it was the typical WA road trip, 7 hours of nothing but bush and beautiful arid land, we didn't pass through any other settlement. Because of coronavirus making Australians holiday within their own state Exmouth has probably never been so busy, even organising this trip 3 months beforehand there were no campsites left. We tried overflow camping and checking for cancellations but in the end had to stealth camp at a secret location. I decided to sleep outside on the beach without a tent I could see the stars all night and the high tide got within 5m, the wind was strong but I was warm in my sleeping bag.

Throughout the day my eyelid was getting swollen, so either this morning or yesterday I got a gland a little infected from the water we were swimming in, a common affliction for me now. It took a few days of a puffy eyelid before the swelling went down.
