cloudier

Woke up this morning to light drizzle in the air.. typical as I had a friend coming over to go out plein air painting... we decided to take a trip along the coast and see what took our fancy.  In the end we enjoyed sightseeing rather than stopping to draw as it was very grey and lacking contrast for painting .. a bit of a shame.. still this is from our wander along the outer harbour at Pittenweem where Prince William and Kate recently visited.  This village is the hub of the Scottish Prawn fishing industry in Fife.  It used to be bustling with boats coming in and an active fish market... much has changed but there are still quite a few boats around.. do hope they can continue.  I love these buidings at the head of the harbour.. the red tiles are typical in the region due them being brough here as ballast in trading ships in the past.  A touch of the med in Fife! The sun burnt through the cloud in the afternoon so after a prawny lunch we sat and had a bit of a draw together outside.
Wonderful to have the catch up having not seen eachother for 2 years (we were neighbours in the south till Aug 2019 and used to paint together quite often... we have missed that)
