Biltong and droëwors

This image features two South African delicacies (and carries an apology to vegetarians everywhere).

Biltong is made from strips of raw, spiced and dried meat, traditionally game.

The origin is simply pre-refrigeration in the 17th century but has remained as a fanatically popular dish in South Africa.

The droëwors (literally dried sausage) also shown is similar in concept.

This stand is in our local SA shop and today I resisted the temptation and did not buy any.

Good Boy Me.
