Teaching First Aid

This evening I happily passed on some basic first aid skills to the Explorers doing DofE. Here you see them applying pressure to stop a limb from bleeding. The ‘limb’ is a reused milk carton filled with red coloured water. It was a bit squishy and the bandages got very wet... a fun way to learn though!

They also appreciated, if you can call it that, some yucky first aid pics supplied by Itth, of other ailments they might suffer, such as blisters, broken arms and burns. It made for a good lesson. I don’t think they’ll sword fight with tent poles or cook in the tent porch now.
