Humanity adrift on the sea of life ....

What more can you ask for from a day? Sunshine, beautiful buildings and fun bags on show.

Not a great fan of classical sculpture but always had a soft spot for John Cassidys work in Manchester. This one dates from 1908 and used to sit in Piccadilly Gardens. It tragically spent the last 8 years in a basement but has now gone back up by the central library in time for Cassidys 150th anniversary in 2010.

Supposed to be a chap and his family cast adrift and he is waving for help, in my 'umble opinion its a perfect example of victorians using allegory as an excuse to look at naked ladies.
