Whirring bee on Lavender.

I think this is another of those Tree Bumblebees, which we seem to get a lot of round here, not surprising as we are surrounded by trees.

I know some places have had storms and a lot of rain today, but we have had a very pleasant day - warm, sunny and a gentle breeze.

Susie Dent's Word for today is - Zephyr

Surely one of the most mellifluous words in English, a 'zephyr' is a soft, gentle breeze, characteristic of slumberous spring and summer days . . .

Zephyrus was the Greek god of the west wind, considered the most clement in contrast to the cold north wind, Boreas.
